Our Services

Our work meets or exceeds the standards of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the oldest and largest multi-disciplinary appraisal association in the world, and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). In addition to delivering expert, impartial equipment valuations, our highly skilled research team also provides:

• Market & Product Forecasting Reports
• Inventory Audit & Validation
• Legal Testimony with Proper Credentials & Expertise
• Appraisal Review Services
• Hospital Equipment Planning & Design
• Customized Research Reports for Any Modality

We are bound by and adhere to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and to the standards of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), as well as our own standards. Values rendered by different Professional Appraisers, given the same information and instructions should not vary greatly. Professional Appraisers are always to be objective and independent, never serving as an advocate for any party.

There are times when we recommend sharing one Professional Appraiser, with the same standards with which we comply, to provide an appraisal of value to two parties in dispute. This saves expense and time, as in arbitration, and works well in cases of divorce, partnership disputes or other matters, as long as the parties are willing to agree and to share all pertinent data with the appraiser and each other. We recommend this approach, especially when the number of Professional Appraisers is limited by the special field of interest, such as High Technology, Medical and Scientific products.

Need for Appraisals

It is important to have accurate and timely information concerning the value of your machinery and equipment.  We will work closely with you to assess the exact value classification and appraisal requirements for your equipment.  Our team performs on-site inspections of equipment, furnishings, and inventories.  Machinery and equipment appraisals are useful for a variety of business needs including:

• Transfers of Ownership
• Mergers & Acquistions
• Tax Planning
• Insurance Matters

• Divorces & Dissolutions
• Bankruptcies & Work Outs
• Valuation Disputes
• Partnership Buyouts
• Lease Buyouts & Originations
• Financing & Collateral
• Donations
• Estate Planning

Our Valuation Process

Several factors are taken into consideration when appraising equipment. These consist of:

• Manufacturer
• Model
• Year of Manufacture
• General Condition
• Accessories
• Optional Equipment
• Market Demand & Availability
• Technological Obsolescence
• Current Economic Conditions

During the appraisal process of tangible assets, we thoroughly research the current market activity of the assets in question and use our knowledge to determine how and to what extent these assets are affected by obsolescence. We are aware of market trends including high or low demand for new or used equipment, market saturation of certain types of equipment, and the research, development, and introduction of new technology and how all of these factors may affect the industry. These market activities impact the current values of equipment and need to be considered when evaluating the equipment during the appraisal.

Medical Equipment Appraisals

The healthcare industry has no reliable guides or public disclosure of sales data, so we must rely on our familiarity with the industry, our knowledge, and our research to produce realistic and accurate appraisals. Medical equipment appraisals are helpful for:

• Purchasing Equipment
• Selling Equipment
• Insurance Replacement Costs
• Equipment Financing
• End-of-Lease Values
• Mergers & Acquisitions

Appraisals for Equipment Financing

We conduct the specific research needed to assess your lending collateral. For True Lease tax treatment, leased equipment must have substantial value at the end of the lease term. We provide a forecast of End-of-Lease value as well as Fair Market Value buyouts. Inaccurate appraisals can lead to substantial legal penalties if they do not represent Fair Market Value.
